This fishery of about 30 pegs offers the angler all year fishing. No peg is more than 200 yards from the car par so access is easy. For the less mobile there are a limited number of pegs bordering directly on the car park.
The lake is stocked with carp from about 2lbs up to double figures the bst weight recorded so far is 28lb plus, Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Perch. Being an irrigation reservoir for the adjacent farm the water level can vary by 10ft between winter and summer, but this has very little effect on the sport. The Carp can be found in every swim although there will always be the hot spots, particularly around the island.
During the summer months the shallower water at the far end tends to be more prolific, whilst the deeper water by the car park produces the better cool weather results. That said during the summer months big catches of bream have been recorded from the car park swims and the early swims by the footpath.
